She’s no longer with us

I wasn’t aware until today when they told me. Luz Maria died Saturday during the night. She was a young woman with a promising future and a husband that loved her dearly. All of her family will miss her very much. I didn’t know her but I did know her husband.

This evening I was in the chapel at her viewing. Just two days ago she had plans and activities. Today, today she’s no longer here. They took her life for no reason. There’s no good reason for it at all, especially to those who loved her.

Today I met her older sister. I knew she was a Christian and that she had spoken with Luz Maria at different times. She had presented the message of salvation to her. Today we have hope that that message was received by Luz Maria. Her sister is convinced of this. Thanks be to God.

But what about those who are still alive? Who will speak with them? Are they aware at all that our life can be gone in a mere moment? And what about those who are near you? Do they know their sinful condition before the Creator? Have they heard of the love of God? Have you told them about Jesus and His death on the cross where He paid for the sins of those who repent and put their faith and trust in Him?

Yes, it isn’t always easy. But it’s necessary to do so. It’s necessary because it’s a command. Jesus expects it of you (Mark 16:15). Look, you can recommend the web page "Need God" to those you know:

http://www.needgod.com/

After they’ve read it (of course, you should read it first), talk to them and help them to really understand the plan of salvation (it’s all explained there). Explain to them what their response to the Gospel should be.

Important reminder: Never, ever forget to pray for them. Always pray to the Lord that He might use you as His instrument and that He might bless your witness. Ask the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts and minds of those you invite to read the Gospel message on that web page. This is the first thing. Talking to them about the Gospel is our work, but the result is always, and I emphasize, always the work of the Lord.

"How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14 NASB)
